I just decided to put the conversation history here. It's self explanatory :) The only thing I changed is grammar and spelling check.

[11:30 PM, 6/24/2018] Evelyn: Hi girls! I could appreciate your help in prayer!! 😭 Shaun is super sick so I'm trying to handle everything myself.

So my parents called me just now saying they can get us (our family and Shaun's family) some rooms for free in a hotel on Sat night so we can stay together and at the same time save money because my dad's brother is best friends with the hotel boss or something like that.

So I went and cancelled the Airbnb booking from the previous night. Their listing says I can cancel 5 days in advance and get a full refund, just that I won't get the service fee back (which is ok for us, we get to save a lot more money than the service fee).

But, when cancelling they said I can only cancel 14 days in advance (which is weird because the listing says 5 days in advance). So I just assumed it's a problem with their website and I can just request a claim later on. So I cancelled.

Then, I contacted the host. The host said she just changed the cancellation policy to 5 days recently, but when I booked, it was 14 days. That's why there was the problem. But she's very very nice, so she's ok to refund all cancellations.

But the weirdest thing is.. she doesn't get the money until we check in!! (supposed to be on Saturday night). Which means, basically all the money we paid for the place (and cancelled) goes to Airbnb. which is terrible because if I knew.. then I won't cancel at all 😭 It's a lot of money for us. RM800+ that we paid in total for both sides that we feel is really wasted to just give to the big Airbnb company. 😅 Kesian also the host.. she doesn't get any money but I can only talk to her about this.

And even worse.. I can only report to airbnb 72 hours after I submit the claim.. which means now there is nothing I can do 😭

Ahhh. First bad experience with Airbnb! Prayerfully they will sort this out for us soon.

She said if I contacted her at first, she would just refund me the money straight when Airbnb paid her, (minus their service fee) meaning she doesn't make any money but she's ok with it. But she didn't know this would happen also.

I keep asking God whyyyy. I sayang the 800 bucks because... 800 bucks could have done a lot for the gospel vs going to be big company that doesn't need the money lol. I geram at Satan man. When we prayed just now I said if we get the money back I'll make sure I put all of it into offering just so God can win x2 lol
