Our Country Home - part 2
Who doesn't like free land?
In our previous blog post on our country home (you can find it here), we talked about how we found our piece of land there in Karak and how God led us to it. Back then, we had just decided to move forward with purchasing it and we had no idea how we were going to come up with the money for it.
We asked God why EGW says we should get cheap or free country land, but in our case, we still had to pay a large-ish sum for it. While it was significantly cheaper than the market rate, it was still a big sum of money we did not have.
As I look back now, that land did eventually become free - for us at least. Long story short, with ours savings, angpows (these are monetary wedding gifts), and an interest-free loan from my parents, that land title is now under Shaun and Evelyn. :)
With the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown that is happening, we have been thanking God for leading us to the country because while many Seventh Day Adventists are looking at and contemplating moving to the country now, we already have a place to go to. In other words, one step ahead. We have roughly sketched out and designed the house we want built, and we have been trying to find architects or contractors to help us build it, but we have not been able to find anyone suitable at present.
It has been approximately a year since we decided to purchase our land, but nothing more has progressed since then.
While praying upon this matter, I was deeply impressed to dedicate our land to God. God gave it to us - so it is only fair it belongs to Him! I stopped right there and said to God;
I will fully dedicate it to you. Oh wait. That land belongs to Shaun too. Alright, as of now, You can have 50% of the land, since it is 50% mine and 50% Shaun rightfully by the law. I will talk to Shaun later and it will be 100% Yours.
Of course, Shaun decided this was good and we both dedicated this piece of land to God.
After all, if I am playing on a technicality, it is rightfully His by the law, since He gave us the money for it. :)
We're not sure how God will lead in the next year to come. We are still reaching out to people who can help us build, but at the same time, we are now open to any different plans God may have for us for the land.
We are keeping this here to see what sort of answered prayers we will get in the next few months.
